Why is the sand so white in Glénan?
Because of Maerl, a red algae that decomposes to produce this very white sand.
There are several ways to discover the archipelago: from April to the end of September, by speedboat from Bénodet, Concarneau, Beg-Meil, and Port La Forêt. Or you can take a traditional sailboat or catamaran, or even rent a sailboat or motorboat to explore the Glénan Islands at your own pace. This will allow you to sail around the 12 islands that make up the archipelago. You can also rent a catamaran with living quarters from the Cap-Coz Nautical Center.
